SPONSORED: Pentland Livestock restarts with online timed auctions

After pausing as lockdown started, Pentland Livestock is now recommencing business through online timed auctions starting in May.

Auctions will be conducted via Auctionmarts and will be accessible from the Pentland Livestock website, where you’ll be able to register to bid and follow sales.

The first online timed auction sale is due to start on Wednesday 20th May and end on Monday 25th May.

It will consist of mainly Border Fine Art Models, Royal Doulton, Beswick and Agricultural Models and Dioramas (including all entered for the postponed 21st of March sale).

A spokesperson from Pentland Livestock said: “During these current uncertain times we are looking forward to getting back to business, albeit with many restrictions.

“Our auctions won’t be able to be conducted in the normal format for the foreseeable future but we are positive that by going online we can return to some sort of normality and serve our customers with the best possible option available.”

How online auctions work

For the moment, all lots will be photographed and these images will be available online to view. Bidding will also happen online but don’t worry if you don’t have computer access –contact Pentland Livestock directly to arrange an alternative form of bidding.

Currently no viewings or uplift of purchased lots is permitted due to lockdown, but Pentland Livestock can retain lots purchased online until lockdown is relaxed.

The operation of these online sales will be reviewed carefully as the pandemic and lockdown continues to unfold. As restrictions relax, Pentland Livestock hopes to eventually allow pre-booked appointments to view higher value items and vehicles.

Pentland Livestock looks forward to returning to normal auction service, but in the meantime, it will be conducting online auctions and serving customers online to its usual high standards.

It recently had a trial of a timed auction on the Pentland Livestock Facebook page, which proved successful – more are planned in the coming days.
