Help your neighbours and local retailers to thrive in today's digital world with Snappy Shopper.

Convenience at your fingertips

Navigating the Snappy Shopper app is a breeze, even for those who may be less tech-savvy.

Just download the app from the App Store or Google Play and you can easily access your favourite products from your local convenience stores.

The app’s intuitive design makes it simple to browse categories, search for specific items and add them to your cart.

Whether you’re topping up on essentials or ordering an extra bottle of wine on a weekend, getting what you need when you need it has never been easier.

Made in Dundee

Snappy Shopper was founded by Mike Callachan, who was born and raised in Dundee.

After graduating from the University of St Andrews in 2005 with a computer science degree, Mike went straight into running his own business, MTC, which creates websites for local companies.

He created the app back in 2017 to help a friend who wanted to revive a shop in Lochee that was struggling with dwindling footfall.

Mike recalled: “I had just become a dad for the second time and I thought, this app is a good idea because I would use it.

“Of course, you could order groceries from the big stores. But that’s your weekly shop where you need to book a slot maybe in two days’ time for a minimum spend of £40. Snappy Shopper’s unique selling point is we can deliver just a few items, like bread, milk or nappies, to your doorstep very quickly when you need them.”

Supporting local businesses

Another compelling benefit of using the app is its support for local businesses.

Snappy Shopper empowers small, family-owned retailers to thrive in today’s fast-paced digital age, helping to keep the High Street alive while fostering a sense of community.

Mike said: “Oftentimes, your delivery guy is the owner of the shop where you placed your order. They’re going to be thankful for your order. They will appreciate your business and they will care about customer experience.

“For example, you can order groceries for an elderly parent and the delivery guy will say, ‘How’s your day going?’ These little touch points are so valuable for our customers and it’s what keeps them using the app again and again.”

A sustainable choice

Snappy Shopper also helps you take steps to minimise your environmental impact now when sustainability is becoming increasingly important.

By supporting local stores, the app helps to reduce the need for lengthy transportation logistics and to lower carbon footprints associated with shopping.

Mike pointed out: “We all have to make a conscious choice about what we’re supporting and where our money goes. Do we want to live in a world where big online retailers are the only shops left?”

Try Snappy Shopper by visiting the company’s website or downloading the app to your smartphone.
