Glaswegian country music sensation Lisa McHugh will return to Scotland this autumn for her highly anticipated concert tour.

The 28-year-old moved to Ireland in 2010 to pursue her dreams of becoming a country music star. Now living in County Fermanagh, Lisa has climbed to the top of the ladder, recently being described as ‘Right up there with Nashville’s best’ by those in the industry.

It was at her home in Scotland where Lisa developed her musical talents, and her parent’s love of country music was a huge influence on her.

Growing up to the sound of Irish country music stars such as Daniel O’Donnell, Philomena Begley and Ray Lynam, Lisa set her sights on country music stardom.

She said: “I began singing in school bands and then doing some wedding ceremonies, which led to a few local gigs in Glasgow.

“These gigs sparked a real desire to make it my full-time career.”

Lisa took a leap of faith and made the move across the Irish Sea aged just 22. She came to prominence after entering an Irish TV talent show, it wasn’t long before her band was formed and she began touring the country, the glamorous Glaswegian hasn’t looked back since.

With five hit albums under her belt, multiple awards, sell out shows and her own TV show, Lisa’s career continues to blossom. Daniel O’Donnell perhaps best summed up Lisa’s impact when he said: “The young country artist has dazzled the Irish country music scene with her style, charm and charisma.”
