Looking for a mobility shop in Dundee? Family-run Allardyce Healthcare has built a reputation for quality service and value for money.

When it comes to mobility, few organisations reflect the spirit of dedication and compassion like Allardyce Healthcare in Dundee.

Celebrating 135 years in business, the local company has built a strong reputation for providing exceptional service that prioritises the wellbeing of every customer.

A family business serving the local community

Allardyce Healthcare has a rich history born out of a commitment to serving the local community.

The firm is a fourth-generation family business with more than a century of experience supplying healthcare products to nursing homes, retirement homes, hospitals and occupational therapists.

Established in 1890, Allardyce Healthcare has grown in both size and expertise to accommodate the ever-changing needs of its clients.

Services tailored to your requirements

Don’t let your disability keep you from living your life.

From its inception, Allardyce Healthcare has aimed to deliver effective products and services that are deeply empathetic.

Its highly trained and skilled team work tirelessly to uphold the values that have made Allardyce a trusted name in Dundee.

The company’s director, Steve Sidowra, said: “Most of our staff have been with us for about 20 years so we have the experience. We know our products and the market very well.

“If you need help, you can come in. We conduct assessments and site surveys. For example, you need a wheelchair or a scooter but you live in a tenement. How do you get upstairs? Will you have a place to store and charge it?

“We can give you expert advice and help you find the best product for your specific needs.

“We can even show you how to use it, especially if it’s a big purchase like an electric wheelchair. We’ll do a basic training exercise to make sure you know how the product works. We will make sure it’s ready to use and customers are capable to use it. We see the process all the way through.”

Whether they’re dealing with disability through illness or simply growing old, every member of Allardyce’s staff is dedicated to fostering a culture of care, ensuring that patients feel respected and understood.

Many are on display at the company’s premises in West Pitkerro Industrial Estate.

Steve shared: “When we moved here, we found it was more a destination. Customers can come in here and they will be able to spend some time, half an hour or an hour, to have a look around and try our products.”

Steve stressed the importance of seeking the advice of experts, warning that using the wrong equipment can jeopardise your safety and do considerable harm.

Commended dealer

Allardyce Healthcare has been recognised as a “highly commended” dealer in the annual awards of Motability Scheme.

Motability is a registered charity that helps disabled people lease a powered wheelchair or scooter using their government-funded mobility allowance.
