Fine place to stay beside Loch Tay

Surrounded by majestic trees and occupying an acre of ground, it’s not difficult to guess the thought process that went into giving Greenacre its name.

The five-bedroom house was built in 1967 but has been extensively renovated and extended since its current owners purchased it eight years ago.

Improvements include a new roof, Fisher heating system, a garden chalet and upgrades to the water supply.

By far the most impressive addition is the master bedroom that occupies the entire second floor of the house.

It has a balcony that boasts outstanding views over Loch Tay, as well as an en suite bathroom and a dressing room.

The kitchen has loch views and a Raeburn, as well as a glazed door onto a decked terrace. The living room has exposed beams and its own double doors onto the decking.

On the first floor are four double bedrooms, all with south-facing views across Loch Tay, one of which has an open fire and is currently used as a reading room.

Beside the main house is a chalet that has previously been used for holiday letting. It has an open plan kitchen/living room and an en suite bedroom. Another outbuilding is set up as a recording studio.

Greenacre has a home report valuation of £525,000 but is on the market for £398,000, making it something of a bargain for whoever snaps it up.

Greenacre, Killin, is on sale with Savills for o/o £398,000.
