The demise of the saloon car has been greatly exaggerated.
That’s according to Honda, which is bringing a four-door version of its Civic hatchback to the UK.
Longer and larger than the hatchback, it has more passenger space and a bigger boot.
It will be available with both petrol and diesel engines and with either a manual or automatic transmission
The petrol version will be powered by a 1.0-litre engine with either a CVT or manual transmission.
Diesel variants will be powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine paired with either a manual or new nine-speed automatic transmission.
The Civic saloon will be on sale from August. Prices and full specifications will be released closer to launch.
