Ann Taylor stole from a 93-year-old woman and an 84-year-old man.

A Perthshire former senior Girl Guide official who vanished amid allegations of embezzlement has admitted stealing £8000 from a 93-year-old.

Ann Taylor, 53, stole the cash from the pensioner over eight months between July 2013 and February 2014 at locations in Muthill, Crieff, Dunblane and Perth.

Taylor, Lintibert Terrace, Muthill, admitted the charge when she appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis deferred sentence until later this month for reports.

Last year Taylor sparked a major search operation when she was reported missing just days after appearing at Perth Sheriff Court accused of taking £1337.77 from the Girl Guides in 2013.

Taylor faced a charge that, between February 4 2013 and May 25 2013, at Bank of Scotland, Galvelmore Street, Crieff, while in the position of Divisional Commissioner of The Girl Guide Association, Central Division, Perth and Kinross, she embezzled £1337.77.

On Thursday she was cleared of the charge after having a not guilty plea accepted.

Taylor has previous convictions for theft having also admitted stealing £163.28 from an 84-year-old man at his Crieff home in October last year.

In March, Sheriff Foulis heard that Taylor had paid back her victim.

Sentence was deferred until the outcome of her other embezzlement matters.
