A Dundee man who died after an incident in the Douglas area of the city on Friday has been named locally as Alister ‘Ali’ Lamb.
Mr Lamb, 36, was found injured in a property on Balunie Terrace on Friday.
Emergency services raced to the scene but the 36-year-old later died in hospital.
A 17-year-old male has been charged in connection with Mr Lamb’s death and is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a man in Dundee.
“Around 5.30pm on Friday we were called to a report of an injured man at a property on Balunie Terrace.
“Emergency services attended and the 36-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital where he died a short time later.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Douglas street locked down
Balunie Terrace was locked down by police following the incident at a block of flats on Friday.
At least seven police vehicles and two ambulances were at the scene.
Several local residents said it was 11pm before they were allowed back into their homes.
Police were still guarding the flats on Saturday with a police forensic photographer also at the scene.
One local resident told The Courier: “This has all been really upsetting for everyone who lives here.
“Many people knew the man who died and everyone is talking about it.
“Your thoughts have to go out to his family and friends.”
Another said: “It was mad when it all kicked off on Friday.
“To begin with no one had any idea what was going on.
“There were police everywhere and locals couldn’t get to their homes.
“It was about 11pm before I was allowed back into my house.
“The police were there all night as well as most of Saturday.”
