New pictures show the devastating aftermath of a major overnight fire in Perth city centre.
A man died following the blaze on Scott Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
An 8-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man were also taken to hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
A block of flats on the corner of South Street was badly damaged by the fire, which broke out in a top-floor flat above the Royal Bar.
Scott Street and South Street remain closed, with drivers urged to avoid the area.
Meanwhile, some local residents were evacuated to the nearby Salutation Hotel, which has been overwhelmed with donations of clothes, toys and other items for families.
Pictures taken of Scott Street on Saturday afternoon show the extent of the damage and ongoing efforts of emergency services.
They are expected to remain at the scene throughout Sunday.
Perth streets remain closed following fire
Police cordons could be seen on several of the streets surrounding Scott Street on Saturday afternoon.
Rubble was also strewn halfway across the street, and a small excavation digger was being used at the scene.
Investigators could also be seen behind the cordons.
Naomi McCarthy lives nearby on Canal Street and said she could still see firefighters “dousing” the blaze at 9am on Saturday.
She said: “At 6am I looked outside my kitchen window and they were still putting out the fire.
“It is tragic. I think the building will have to be condemned.”
Nearby flats and businesses were also affected by the blaze.
Three shops on the High Street were cordoned off, with access restricted to Churches Action for The Homeless, Top Class Turkish Barber and an empty unit.
However, the barber continued to operate from behind the police cordon.
Chathurie Rathnayaka witnessed the fire from her home on Scott Street.
She said: “We went to stay with friends after the fire broke out last night.
“It was a big fire and we left for safety reasons.
“The police were out on the street asking people to go somewhere else.”
Police and fire service investigating Perth fire
A respite centre has been set up at the nearby Salutation Hotel for residents affected by the fire.
Around 40 residents were evacuated at the height of the blaze.
Police have not confirmed the age of the man who has died.
Chief Superintendent Nicola Russell, Divisional Commander for Tayside said: “Our thoughts are with all those affected by this incident.
“Investigations are at a very early stage to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.
“We are conducting a joint investigation with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“As part of our investigations a temporary airspace restriction is place in the Scott Street and South Street areas in Perth until 1pm on Wednesday for security and your safety.
“A police cordon remains in place and members of the public are asked to avoid the area.”
Andy Girrity, deputy assistant chief officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, firefighters found the roof of a four-storey residential building well alight.
“Initially, three appliances were mobilised, but due to the severity of the blaze and structural collapses, a total of 12 appliances were involved at the height of the incident.
“Five casualties, including one firefighter injured by falling masonry, were passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“The incident has now been scaled back, and two appliances and one height vehicle remain on scene to dampen down hotspots.”
