A driver has been arrested following a two-vehicle crash in Dundee.
Emergency services were called to Byron Street, near the junction with Leng Street, at around 5.30pm on Friday.
Firefighters had to remove the roof of a car to rescue one of the drivers, who was ‘medically trapped’.
One driver, 35, was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and released pending further inquiries.
The driver of the second vehicle, also 35, was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
One witness told The Courier: “I was walking home when I saw the emergency responders at the scene.
“The area had been taped off by police near the antique store.
“I saw the roof of the car had been cut off, and police were still examining the crash scene.
“I couldn’t believe the extent of the damage on the road – there was a lot of debris.
“I just hope the person is alright.
“People living on the street also got a fright about what had happened.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Friday, 13 June, we were called to a two-vehicle crash on Byron Street in Dundee.
“Emergency services attended, and the 35-year-old male driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 35-year-old man, the driver of the other vehicle, was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and released pending further inquiries.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the roof had to be removed as the driver was “medically trapped” in the vehicle.
They received the stop message at 6:36pm.
