Police closed a section of the Kingsway in Dundee for two hours after a car caught fire.
Emergency services were called to the Kingsway, between Old Glamis Road and Strathmartine Road, on Saturday night.
Drivers reported that the vehicle had struck a lamppost before coming to a stop on the central reservation.
The road was shut in both directions shortly after 9pm as smoke was seen billowing from the car.
Firefighters from Kingsway and Macalpine stations were dispatched to the scene and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
One driver told The Courier: “The car was in the central reservation near the college on the Kingsway.
“Firefighters were all around the car when I looked over.
“All the vehicle doors were open, and the car looked quite badly damaged.”
Police confirmed all occupants managed to get out of the vehicle safely before the road was fully reopened.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 9.05pm on Saturday, June 14, we were called to a report of a one-car crash on Kingsway, Dundee, and the car on fire following the crash.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.
“There were no injuries reported.
“The road was closed in both directions between Old Glamis Road and Strathmartine Road while emergency services were in attendance and reopened around 11.05pm.”
