Police are hunting for a man who was ‘seen with a knife’ in a Burntisland playpark.
Officers have been going door-to-door following the alleged incident at a play area in Rossend Terrace just before 2pm on Sunday.
One concerned local claimed online that a man with two dogs had threatened a woman with a knife.
Another said police told them they were looking for a bald man with a knife.

A video, taken on Sunday, showed four uniformed officers watching over the park as young children played, while officers searched in the undergrowth.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1:55pm on Sunday June 15 we received a report of a man with a knife in a playpark in Rossend Terrace, Burntisland.
