A man has suffered serious injuries after an alleged attack in Forfar.
The 32-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after the incident near the entrance to Forfar Recycling Centre on Thursday afternoon.
Another man, aged 21, has been arrested.
Police have taped off an area on the road leading to the recycling centre, next to the Shell garage.
The centre was shut for about two hours but has since reopened.
One nearby resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I was coming back from lunch at around 12.45pm.
“At that point, there was one police van and an ambulance at the scene.
“They were positioned outside the recycling centre.
“The ambulance was here for a while.”
Another witness told The Courier he became aware of the police presence at around 1.30pm.
He said: “I drove past just after 1.30pm and saw loads of police vehicles – vans and cars – all parked at the entrance to the recycling centre.
