Andy Murray has finally met ‘the other Murray brother’ – six years after comedian Chris Forbes first faked being the tennis legend’s sibling.
Forbes’s Duncan Murray act, where he pretends to be the unfortunate ‘other Murray brother’ who couldn’t play tennis, has amassed millions of views online.
The joke, started in 2019 by the Scot Squad star, has led to him performing sell-out shows with Judy Murray.
Now, the stand-up comedian has finally had a chance to meet his fake brother.
Chris and his wife Eleanor attended Andy Murray’s Centre Stage Glasgow show on Wednesday night.
It saw the Wimbledon Champion reflect on his career and provide a behind-the-scenes picture of the world of tennis.
Chris said meeting Andy was a “full circle moment” after pretending to be Duncan for years.
He wrote on Facebook: “Just a couple of brothers hanging out last night!
“So honoured to meet Andy and felt like a full circle moment for Duncan after the last 6 years of tomfoolery with Judy!
“It was extra special yesterday as it was Eleanor’s birthday and she also got to meet him.”
Duncan was ‘proud’ to watch Andy Murray’s show
Chris also took to X, formerly Twitter, to joke about meeting his fictional brother.
He wrote: “Proud brother I mean, he didn’t do a handstand or sing a song about mum @JudyMurray but still… great show.”
In an exclusive Q&A with The Courier, Duncan Murray previously claimed the people of his hometown had “turned on him” and called brother Andy “jealous”.
He has also revealed his five favourite places in Dunblane.
