Resurfacing work on a key Arbroath junction will begin next week as part of the town’s £14 million Place for Everyone project.

The active travel scheme to transform the A92 through the town is scheduled for completion in September.

With the project entering its final stages, attention is about to focus on Guthrie Port.

Surfacing work at the re-designed roundabout will begin on Monday.

It is a key junction along the route.

Angus Council said the resurfacing works will be carried out during a nightshift to minimise disruption to drivers.

The project is set to last until Friday July 4.

“The works will take place between 9pm and 6am,” said the council.

“They will utilise temporary traffic lights and local diversions to avoid the need for full road closures.”

The Courier has charted progress of the Place for Everyone scheme since work began in April 2024.

Sections of the mile-long active travel route from Gayfield to Guthrie Port are already complete.

The scheme will reduce the A92 to a single lane in each direction.

Cycle paths and pedestrian spaces are being created in the scheme.

Other key features include replacement of the Ladyloan roundabout at the entrance to Arbroath harbour with a lights-controlled junction.
