A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged attack in Forfar.
Six police units descended on the scene near the Forfar Recycling Centre on Thursday afternoon.
A 32-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with what police described as “serious injuries”.
The recycling centre was closed for around two hours as officers examined the scene.
An area near the Shell garage on Queenswell Road remained cordoned off after the recycling centre reopened.
Items, including a coat, were seen within the cordon as CID officers remained at the location.

Police confirmed the 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has now been charged.
A spokeswoman said: “At around 12.30pm on Thursday, June 19, we were called to a premises in the Queenswell Road area of Forfar following a report of an assault.
“A 32-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries.
“A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged.
“A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
