‘Violent’ cyclist knocks man unconscious in Bannockburn park attack

A man was knocked unconscious after being attacked by a cyclist in a park in Bannockburn.

The 30-year-old man was approached by the male cyclist while sitting on a bench at Ladywell Park on Thursday evening.

He was taken to Forth Valley Hospital for treatment after the “violent and unprovoked” assault, which happened between 8pm and 8.30pm.

The suspect is described as being a white man between 20 and 25-years-old, 5ft 7in in height and with short dark hair.

He was on a bike at the time and cycled off after the assault.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Chris Hemm said: “This was a violent, unprovoked assault and we are carrying out extensive enquiries in the area.

“I would ask anyone who was in the park at the time or who lives nearby and has private CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.”
