Best pictures of Glenrothes Road Running Festival as runners brave the heat

Hundreds of runners took part in the annual event, which included a 10k road race.

Hundreds of runners of all ages took part in the 42nd annual Glenrothes Road Running Festival on Sunday.

Many adults braved the heat for a 10k road race around parts of the town.

And others tackled a shorter 4k route.

Youngsters also got in on the act with a 2k fun run and a 200m junior jog for under fives.

The popular event started and finished at the Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes.
