A 59-year-old man has died after a crash involving a motorcycle north of an Angus village.
Emergency services were called to the B966, between Edzell and Fettercairn on Saturday night.
The road at Cairnton of Balbegno was shut after the crash involving a blue and white Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for investigations and reopened at about 12.10am on Sunday morning.
Police ‘keen to trace’ driver of other motorbike
Police have launched an appeal following the incident.
Sergeant Dave Cooper said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Inquiries so far suggest another blue and white motorcycle may have been in the area and we are keen to trace the rider in case they have information that could assist.
“We would also like to speak to anyone else who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened or have dashcam footage that could help.”
Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3053 of Saturday June 21.
