Casualty taken to hospital after two-car collision on A92 in Angus

A person has been taken to hospital after a two-car crash between Arbroath and Montrose.

Emergency services were called to the A92 near Inverkeilor on Monday morning.

An eyewitness, who was passing on a bus, told The Courier one of the cars looked like it had been badly damaged.

He said: “Traffic was being controlled from both sides by police.

“One car was off the road, but didn’t appear to be too badly damaged.

“A second car looked like it had been smashed into at considerable speed.

“The whole of the driver’s side of the car was damaged. It was still on the carriageway.

“Police were taking statements at the side of the road.

“There were queues of traffic at either side and it was quite close to Inverkeilor.

“Hopefully no one was injured.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11.26am to attend a two-car road traffic collision on the A92 near Inverkeilor.

“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.”

Police Scotland has been approached for further information.
