A 37-year-old man has been arrested after police raced to a Forfar street on Monday afternoon.
Local residents reported being shocked as they saw five police cars and two police vans descend on the Carseview Road area just after lunchtime.
One eyewitness said: “I heard lots of sirens and then several police cars and vans came flying up Market Street.
“They seemed to be looking for someone in the Carseview Road and Suttieside Road areas.
“I counted five police cars and two vans gathered near Ivy Road quite close to the park.
“I saw several officers on foot – it looked like they were looking for someone.
“There were so many police I thought it had to be something really serious.
“It was pretty shocking to see it all unfold in Forfar in what is normally a really quiet area.”
Enquiries ongoing after Forfar incident
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.30pm on Monday June 23 we were called to a report of a disturbance on Carseview Road in Forfar.
“Officers attended and a man was traced in the Suttieside Road area a short time later.
“The 37-year-old has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
The nature of the disturbance has not been revealed.
