Areas of Camperdown Park in Dundee will shut during a dance festival next month.

DJ Hannah Laing is hosting doof in the Park for the first time on Saturday July 5, with 15,000 people attending.

Dundee City Council has confirmed there will be restrictions in and around the park before, during and after the event.

Some areas will be fenced off from this Friday (June 27) as preparation gets under way on the site.

Camperdown Wildlife Centre and adventure playground closed during doof in the Park

Visitors are being warned that lorries and other delivery vehicles will be moving in and around the park from that date.

Camperdown Park will remain open before and after the festival, however, Camperdown Wildlife Centre and the adventure playground will both be shut on the day of the event.

Road restrictions will also be in place on the day.

The site is expected to be cleared by Friday July 11.

Councillor Nadia El-Nakla, the council’s climate, environment and biodiversity deputy convener, said: “The Camperdown Park experience for those not attending doof in the Park won’t be what people are used to on the day the festival is taking place.

“To avoid disappointment, we’re encouraging only people with event tickets to visit Camperdown on the Saturday.”

The Courier has produced an all-you-need-to-know guide on doof in the Park.
