Justyna Jankowiak, who passed the fire on her way back to work, said: “At around 1:30pm we approached Broxden from Dundee/Edinburgh and noticed a big cloud of smoke.
“There were no emergency services at the scene when we passed, but the road crew seemed to be able to control the fire and safely block off the affected side of the road.
“When we passed the car, which was an old Land Rover, we noticed flames underneath it”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received the call at 1.35pm that a Land Rover-type vehicle was on fire.
“Two appliances attended, and one lane of the M90 was closed.”
