A Pitlochry B&B has been crowned the best in Scotland.
The Craigmhor Lodge and Courtyard claimed the prize after edging into the top 1% of properties in the world on Tripadvisor.
The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards are ranked on customer ratings over the past year.
Tripadvisor guests praised the Craigmhor’s elegance and raved about its award-winning breakfasts.
Morning delights include raspberry and cocoa overnight oats.
Guests also get a food provenance map, showing where their local, seasonal ingredients have come from.
Craigmhor owners Calum and Jane MacLellan say the success is all down to their loyal Pitlochry staff.
“It means a lot because it is based on reviews over 12 months,” said Calum.
“It is not just a case of having a few good months… it is about delivering, year-round, and keeping standards.”
Craigmhor welcome helps put Pitlochry on map
The Craigmhor boasts a three-bedroom Victorian lodge, with another 12 modern bedrooms in the courtyard.
All are set in its own wooded grounds with views down the Tummel valley.
It scored highest in the country in the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards.
The prize is restricted to the top 1% of the 8 million global properties listed on Tripadvisor’s online booking platform.
The Craigmhor was also ranked 12th in Britain, based on a year-long analysis of Tripadvisor customer ratings.
Guests come from all over the world.
Some have even been known to stay there for the Edinburgh Festival, despite the shows being a four-hour round trip away from Pitlochry by train.
Calum and Jane have owned the Craigmhor for 28 years.
Previous awards include 2019 Best Guesthouse in Scotland and the 2019 AA Best Scottish Guest House Breakfast Award.
And in 2023, they landed Breakfast of the Year with National Hotels of the Year, Scotland.
Jane says the team are “really pleased” with the latest accolade.
“It shows the staff that everything they are striving to achieve is paying off,” she added.
