The Alhambra theatre in Dunfermline is to receive an external facelift.
The listed building, on Canmore Street, has been given permission to install three LED advertising boxed screens outside.
They will show still pictures advertising upcoming shows.
The theatre is also preparing to erect a new canopy and replace its doors.
Resurfacing for Leven paths
Fife Council wants to resurface core paths around Leven.
It says a new hard-wearing surface on the paths alongside Kennoway Road and behind Diageo would benefit users.
If granted permission, it will not change the line of the route.
Takeaway approval for former bank
Plans to turn the former TSB on Lochgelly Main Street into a cafe and takeaway have been approved.
Councillors heard eight people living in neighbouring flats expressed concerns over potential smells and noise.
However, officers said the proposal by Mohammed Khan were acceptable.
The plans received the green light as long as conditions regarding ventilation and delivery times were adhered to.
Nursery improvements
Foulford Primary in Cowdenbeath is getting a new nursery.
A building warrant was granted this week for £98,000 of work that also includes new accessible and staff toilets.
Meanwhile, nurseries in Buckhaven and Lumphinnans will each receive £100,000 refurbishments.
In Lumphinnans, extra toilets and nappy changing facilities will be provided, while Buckhaven will have a wall removed and receive new furniture.
149 Dunfermline houses
Detailed plans for the first phase of a £21 million Dunfermline housing development have been submitted.
Persimmon Homes is building 2,150 homes at its Kingswood site at Broomhall.
And the latest plans relate to the first 149 houses on the west of the site.
Persimmon says it will be a “high quality, private residential area”.
Here are links to all of the plans on the Fife planning portal.
