A Dundee priest is said to be in “good spirits” as he continues his recovery from a serious crash.
Father Malcolm Hutchison of SS Peter & Paul’s Church was injured in a two-car collision on Byron Street, near the junction with Leng Street, a fortnight ago.
The 35-year-old was trapped in his vehicle and firefighters had to cut him free.
Paramedics then took him to hospital.
Monsignor Kenneth McCaffrey provided The Courier with an update on his condition.

He said: “Father Jim Walls and I were in to see Father Malcolm on Thursday for a short period of time.
“The operations that were necessary have been completed, and he is now recuperating.
“He’s in good spirits, but the rehabilitation will be a long process.”
An update shared on the St Mary’s Lochee – Parish of the Immaculate Conception Facebook page said: “Fr Malcolm continues to improve.
“The operations have been completed, and he will now undergo physio.
“The only thing he asked for is holy communion daily.
“Please continue to cradle him in your prayers for the weeks and months ahead.”
Father Malcolm has served at SS Peter & Paul’s on Byron Street since 2022.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences after the crash.
He has since been released pending further inquiries.
