TV star Lorraine Kelly has revealed she is keen on moving back to Dundee one day.
The broadcasting icon was back in Tayside last week to help launch a new mast climb experience at RRS Discovery.
She also spoke to The Courier about her anger at the crisis engulfing Dundee University.
Although she is originally from Glasgow, Lorraine is seen as an adopted Dundonian and lived in Broughty Ferry for many years.
She left Dundee in 2018 to move to London to spend more time with her husband, Steve, having previously commuted between the two cities.
However, the 65-year-old, whose ITV show is being cut to 30 minutes from January, says she would like to return to living in Dundee one day.
She told The Courier: “I would love to come back, but it all depends on where my daughter (Rosie) and granddaughter (Billie) are.
“The great thing is, because of that (Heathrow to Dundee) flight, it’s dead easy for us.
“We don’t live too far away from Heathrow, so the wee flight is brilliant.
“Hardly anybody outside Dundee knows about the airport.
‘We will come back eventually’ says Lorraine Kelly on moving back to Dundee
“The amount of people when I tell them I’m flying to Dundee, they’re like, ‘What?’
“I’m doing the Orkney Island Games in a couple of weeks and we’re doing Heathrow, Dundee, Kirkwall – it does that.”
She added: “I’m up here all the time, it’s relatively easy to get up here.
“I did it for years, I commuted for years when we lived in Broughty Ferry. I used that airport all the time.
“I always say to myself that we will come back eventually.
“We’ll take Billie with us, and Rosie, and Steve.”
Lorraine is also looking forward to seeing her beloved Dundee United in action when the new season starts.
She has even had her say on the club’s new strip, which has divided opinion among her fellow Arabs.
Asked what she made of the tangerine-and-black-striped top, Lorraine called it “brave” and “bold”.
She said: “As long as the team are winning in it, that’s all that matters.”
Dundee United fan backs Jim Goodwin’s men for another successful campaign
The presenter has also backed Jim Goodwin’s side for more success this season, after they secured a European place in the last campaign.
“I’m optimistic, as I always am,” she said. “It’s the hope that kills you.
“If we can get over the first couple of games, that would be fantastic. There’s definitely something there.
“Our (Lorraine and Steve’s) first date was Dundee United v Hearts,” she said.
“That was the first time we went out together, and I just love the team.
“That was back in the ’80s. I’ve seen the glory days and the not-so-glory days.
“I think they’ll be all right, but that’s the thing about your team, you just have to stick with them.
“My wee granddaughter has already been to a game, she was there in November.
“And we beat Ross County 3-0, so that was grand.
“I hope she’s a good luck charm.
“She slept all the way through; she was only four months old, but that’s OK.
“She’s already got the Babygro.”
