Image Police Scotland A teenage driver is accused of hitting 79mph in a 40mph zone on a north-east Fife road. The 17-year-old was stopped by police on the A914 between Leuchars and Newport, near Drumoig, at around 11.30pm on Thursday. A post, shared on the Police Scotland Fife Facebook page, showed a reading of 79mph on a police speed gun – nearly double the limit. The driver of the white Ford Fiesta ST will be reported to the procurator fiiscal in due course. It comes as reduced 20mph speed limits are set to be introduced on several roads across north-east Fife.
