Pictures as pupils and staff say farewell to old Monifieth High School

End-of-term excitement was tinged with emotion as the doors closed on the current Monifieth High School for the final time.

Young piper Robbie Melvin led the final farewell.

But pupils and staff can look forward to their new £66.5 million learning campus when the 2025/26 school year starts in August.

Robertson Construction Tayside began work on the new 1,200-pupil secondary in June 2023.

It is the largest infrastructure project in the history of Angus Council and due to be handed over to education chiefs within weeks.

The campus features a dance studio and 25m swimming pool.

There are vocational spaces for constructions skills, agriculture and e-sports.

And it includes theatre space, as well as early learning and childcare facilities

The old building will be demolished in the next phase of the project.

In March, generations of former pupils grabbed a final opportunity to tour the school.

Around 1,000 former pupils and past staff signed up for a walk down memory lane.
