A mystery man from Angus is set to pay off his mortgage after winning £1m in the lottery.
The anonymous married man scooped the prize after matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the Lotto draw on Saturday, May 31.
The lucky numbers were 8, 11, 12, 16, 20 and 33, with a Bonus Ball of 52.
He is one of three players to become new millionaires on the same night.
Angus man ‘in disbelief’ after £1m National Lottery win
The Angus man said: “My hands were shaking when I realised I had won – I was in disbelief.
“I kept looking at my wife and saying, ‘Is this real?'”
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the mystery winner and said: “What incredible news for this lucky man from Angus.
“The win clearly means a lot to him, so much so that he admits he was in disbelief, but it will certainly be more believable when he is mortgage-free.
“Huge congratulations.”
It comes after it was revealed that A lucky EuroMillions lottery winner who bought their ticket in Fife has yet to claim their £3.6 million prize.
