Cammy Barnes has shared his delight over signing his first record deal with his fans.
The Methil singer revealed on Thursday that he signed a deal with Universal Music Group and Lancashire-based Xploded Music.
Speaking with The Courier, Cammy revealed that a number of record companies were interested in signing him.
He said: “To be honest, since Whisky Row got released, we’ve had a lot of interest from quite a few labels.
“The one from Xploded and Universal was kind of the most appealing.
Cammy, who reached the semi finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2023, has continued to tour and release music since his TV appearance.
He said: “I’ll be honest, I don’t think it was ever on the cards for me. I just never kind of seen that happening.
“So the fact that it has happened, it’s a proper milestone for a musician.
Cammy Barnes signs first record deal
“Signing a record deal is always the dream when you’re starting out and younger, you know what I mean?
“It feels like now, I seem to be doing something right now.
“That’s kind of a good wee indication that I keep doing what I’m doing. Things are going well.
“The hard work starts a wee bit now.”
Cammy revealed that the album is nearing completion.
He said: “We’re going to fine tune it, and at the start of August we’re going for two weeks to record with Dan Hawkins from The Darkness.
“We’re going to his studio to get it over the line, and then the plan is to release an album at the start of next year.”
Cammy will perform some of his new tracks at shows towards the end of the year.
He is also set to support Amy MacDonald at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro in December.
He said: “Life’s a wee bit easier and we can focus on the music properly.
“We’ll have a good few single releases leading up to the album, obviously.
“That’s just been a nice cherry on top of a great year so far.
“I am a bit mind blown at it all, to be honest.”
