An online personality has shared his review of viral Kirkcaldy takeaway Rebecca’s Chinese.

Glaswegian Darren ‘Dazza’ Dowling’s shared his assessment of the Commercial Street carry-out with his 400,000 Facebook followers on Friday evening.

Rebecca Cheuk, 24, opened the takeaway in 2021.

In the video, Dazza takes his order to the Fife town’s beach, where he has to contend with seagulls lurking over his meal.

Included in his order is the chicken curry, chips and gravy and salt and chilli battered pizza bites.

After misjudging the size of the pizza bites, Dazza decides to start his review by tackling the chicken curry.

Struggling to hold on to the “piping hot” dish on the beach, Dazza tucks in to the curry, with gigantic chicken cubes.

He says: “It’s just a chicken curry. It’s not too spicy, it’s a bog standard chicken curry.

“I don’t understand why people are complaining about this.

“The sauce, in particular, is very tasty.

“It’s eight out of 10.”

He then moves on to the chips and gravy.

This particular dish has been panned by online critics, who have branded the gravy “crude oil”.

Before tucking into to the dish, Dazza mentions Rebecca’s online persona.

Cheuk, who also works as a nurse full time, has over 200,000 followers on TikTok.

Dazza defends Rebecca’s videos, saying that her high-pitched voice helps her get more comments.

He uses his mispronunciation of Burntisland as an example of gaining more feedback.

Tucking into the chips, Dazza said: “It’s an interesting gravy, that. I don’t know how I feel about that.

“I don’t know if I like it, sadly, I don’t know if it’s for me.

“It is a thick gravy. The chips are just chips, they’re from a Chinese takeaway.

“I’m going to give this four out of 10.”

Dazza then moves on to the “main event”, the pizza bites.

He said: “These look massive, I thought they were going to be slices of pizza.

“All I really got there was dough. The cheese and tomato ratio to dough is way off.

“If there was more sauce and more filling in it, it would be lovely.

“The salt and chilli flavouring on the outside is smashing, it tastes really nice. The ratio inside lets it down.

“For all those reasons, I’m going to give it another four out of 10.”

Dazza then gives his final thoughts on the takeaway.

He said: “Honestly, I think it’s alright. It’s not that bad.

“I was a bit let down with the two things.

“The only controversial part is because she puts the high pitch in her voice.

“If you say that’s a bad thing, then you’re the fool.

“You’re falling right into her trap.”
