Dundee singer ‘speechless’ as single goes down a storm with critics and music fans alike

A Dundee musician has been left “speechless” after her latest single went viral – proving a hit with fans and critics alike.

Singer-songwriter Be Charlotte’s new tune Do Not Disturb went live online on March 8.

Since then it has been reached some 100,000 people via streaming providers such as Spotify and Deezer, YouTube and social media.

It is Be Charlotte’s first single since signing for major record Columbia last year.

Do Not Disturb has also received rave reviews from music critics and bloggers, and has already been covered by fans.

Be Charlotte is the stage name of Dundonian Charlotte Brimner, 21.

The former Morgan Academy pupil took up singing while at school.

She has toured Europe, North America and Asia.

Alongside the likes of Primal Scream, she was one of the musicians to play the 3D Festival which marked the opening V&A Dundee in September 2018.

Posting on the day the single went live, Be Charlotte said: “What a day. So many people streaming, downloading and watching Do Not Disturb.

“And two people have already covered the song more than I could’ve ever hoped for. Speechless. THANK YOU.”

On Sunday she added: “Can’t believe my song has gone viral!!! Do Not Disturb. Over 100,000 people have been streaming, downloading and watching the video already. What a dream. Thankyou!!!”
