An Angus man has admitted a series of threats against his former partner, including claims he would set fire to her home and cut the brakes on her car.
Darryl Bailey, of Bractullo Gardens, Letham, appeared before Sheriff Derek Reekie at Forfar and admitted engaging in a course of abusive conduct against the woman between September 3 and October 28 last year.
It included repeatedly contacting the victim and making the fire threat, as well as saying he would cut the brakes and slash the tyres on her car.
Defence solicitor Nick Markowski said: “All these incidents occurred when he was under the influence of both alcohol and substances.”
Sheriff Reekie deferred sentence on the 36-year-old until September 24 for a background report and tagging order assessement.
He warned Bailey: “Without hearing the circumstances, this is clearly a serious matter.
“I note your previous convictions and sentences so I make no promises what the outcome will be.”
