The countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun.
And, as excitement builds, many towns across Tayside and Fife are planning fun, festive events to mark the switching-on of their Christmas lights.
The main annual events in Dundee and Perth aren’t going ahead this year.
But we’ve put together a round-up of some of the other festivities happening in our area over the next few weeks.
And you never know, you might even see Santa.
November 26 at 7pm, in the High Street.
Switch-on by a special guest.
November 27, from 2.30pm, on the High Street.
2.45pm – Santa arrives at the Mercat on his sleigh pulled by reindeer.
3.30pm – Lantern parade starts at the King’s Theatre.
4pm – Lights switched on by the cast of this year’s panto, Sleeping Beauty.
November 27, from 10am to 6pm, in the town centre.
10am-5pm – Christmas market in Crossgate and inside the Corn Exchange.
11am – 5.15pm –Santa and his elves in his magical grotto at Youth Café building.
6pm – Lights switch-on.
BLAIRGOWRIE AND RATTRAY
November 27 from 4pm.
4pm – Parade leaves Rattray.
5pm – Light switch-on in the Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie.
Until 8pm – Entertainment including a silent disco, Santa’s Grotto, a Christmas Market and late night shopping.
November 28, from 1pm at the old Kinloch School grounds, Dundee Street/Links Avenue.
The Christmas tree lights will be switched on at 5.30pm.
Entertainment includes stalls, food and Santa.
DUNDEE WEST END
December 2 from 4pm at Miller’s Wynd car park, Perth Road.
Christmas market is on from 4pm to 8pm.
7pm – Santa arrives with Mains of Fintry Pipe Band for the lights switch-on.
December 4, at 7pm.
Christmas lights switch-on and carol service between the Village Hall and the Atholl Arms.
Song sheets will be provided and refreshments will be available.
