An Arbroath singer-songwriter has made the final shortlist in a competition to support indie music legend John Power.
Owen Bryce is one of four hopefuls selected by concert promotor G J Promotions in with a chance of supporting Power in his solo concert at The Windsor Hotel in Kirkcaldy in October.
John Power played bass in The La’s, known for their hit There She Goes, and was the lead singer in Britpop band Cast. He has also released three solo albums.
Former Arbroath High School pupil Owen, 22, has been writing music for the last five years and started playing gigs in December.

He performed at the Rock The Tay festival in Tayside earlier this year and has also been successful in receiving support from the Youth Music Initiative, a Government scheme to give young people music making opportunities.
Through the scheme he has been mentored by Christopher Marra, the brother of Dundee songwriter Michael Marra.
Owen’s music is described as a cross of Bob Dylan and Arctic Monkeys.
The winner will be decided by a public vote on Twitter which ends on Friday at 4pm.
More than 1400 votes have been cast in the competition.
