A woman remains in hospital following a single vehicle crash which closed an Angus road for three hours on Thursday night.
She was a front seat passenger in a Ford Fiesta which smashed into a wall on the Carnoustie to Easthaven road, suffering what have been described as serious injuries.
Police have now launched an appeal for information from anyone who may have been on the road at the time.
A Police Scotland spokesman said the incident happened around 6.40pm.
“A white Ford Fiesta was travelling along the Carnoustie to Easthaven Road when it left the road and collided with a wall,” said a spokesman.
“There was extensive damage to the car and the wall.
“The driver was uninjured but a front seat passenger suffered serious injuries and she was taken to hospital for treatment.
“The road was closed for three hours for a full investigation to take place,” the spokesman added.
“Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting 2664 of 4 January speak to any police officer.
“Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
