Former Forfar and Scotland under-21 goalkeeper Grant Adam pushed his partner and repeatedly kicked a patio door during a row at her home.
However, the 29-year-old player escaped punishment yesterday after a court was told the couple are back in a relationship.
Adam – the brother of Scotland and Dundee star Charlie Adam – was admonished after Dundee Sheriff Court was told he had been out of trouble since last November.
Adam, of Grampian Gardens, Dundee, previously admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner which caused fear or alarm last September.
He admitted shouting, swearing, kicking the patio door a number of times and pushing Kirsty Rowlands on the body at her Finavon Street home in Dundee.
Part of the charge, which alleged Adam pinned her against a wall, seized her mobile phone and deleted a video, was dropped by the Crown.
Adam pled guilty to the reduced charge before Sheriff Kevin Veal and was ordered to be of good behaviour while sentence was deferred until yesterday.
Solicitor Scott Norrie, defending, told the court: “He has been of good behaviour. Their relationship is back on track so there are no issues as far as that is concerned.”
Sheriff Alisdair Carmichael said: “You have been of good behaviour. It has been going on for some considerable time.
“You do have a couple of previous convictions and this will be recorded as a conviction too. You will be admonished.”
In 2012, while Rangers reserve goalkeeper, Adam was fined £500 for chanting a sectarian slogan outside a Glasgow nightclub.
He also has a domestic assault conviction from Ayr Sheriff Court in 2014, when he was ordered to carry out 135 hours unpaid work in the community.
Adam played for Scotland at Under-21 level, and had spells at several Scottish league clubs including Dundee, Cowdenbeath and St Mirren.
He represented his country at age group level on more than 20 occasions and made 159 appearances in the Scottish League.
Most recently he has played for junior club Downfield.
Brother Charlie, who signed for Dundee earlier this month, earned 26 caps during a career which saw him play for Rangers, Liverpool, Stoke, Reading and Blackpool.
