A stalker who sneaked into a woman’s bedroom to take pictures and videos of her underwear will be sentenced on August 5.
James Don had denied carrying out lengthy campaigns of harassment against two women but was found guilty after a trial.
One of the women, who cannot be named, told a jury she had been left feeling “terrified and violated” when shown the pictures by investigating police officers.
Over more than a year, Don followed and photographed his victims in the street, outside their places of work and twice entered one of their homes to film.
In the video footage, shown to the court, he wandered through the home, picking up items of underwear and sniffing them.
Dozens of pictures and video clips were found on cameras and memory cards.
Don, 59, of Fullarton Street in Dundee, had pleaded not guilty on indictment to one charge of breach of the peace and two of stalking, committed between January 2014 and March 2015 at addresses in Dundee.
During trial, he admitted following and photographing the women and even entering one of their homes.
He claimed, however, that he had done nothing wrong and even claimed one of his victims had given him the key to her home – despite having only talked to him once, very briefly.
Sentence has been deferred for a report from the Tay Project, which works with sex offenders.
Sheriff Lorna Drummon warned him: “These offence are very serious and prison is bound to be at the forefront of the court’s mind.
“They warrant custody.”
