Dundee stalker jailed for ten-year campaign of terror that left young women’s lives in tatters

A pervert stalker has been jailed for four years for a decade-long campaign of terror that left two young women’s lives in tatters.

James Don kept his vulnerable victims under covert surveillance and now faces life on the sex offenders register following his release.

He was told that he must remain behind bars for a “very significant” time to protect the city from the “very real threat of harm” he poses.

The 59-year-old took photographs and videos of his targets without their knowledge, visiting their places of work and even staking out places he expected them to be.

The most “horrifying” incident came when he sneaked into one of the women’s homes, took pictures and video of her bedroom and even took images of her underwear.

His victims were left with mental scars that show no sign of healing, too terrified to venture out alone, but also frightened of their own homes.

The unrepentant Don has always denied carrying out the campaigns of harassment against his two victims – even implying that they had been willing participants – but a jury took just 26 minutes to find him unanimously guilty.

At Dundee Sheriff Court, Sheriff Lorna Drummond told Don has actions had taken a “devastating” toll upon his victims.
