A city teacher is to stand trial accused of a stalking campaign against a woman and an 11-year-old child.

The charges include an allegation Mark Dycher presented a dead cat to the child.

Dycher, 64, denies engaging in a course of conduct, causing fear and alarm to the woman and child at a property in Broughty Ferry.

It is alleged Dycher, of Yewbank Avenue, repeatedly acted in an aggressive manner, shouted at the woman, recorded her with his mobile phone and sent a threatening letter.

The charge states he threw dog faeces at her house, made offensive remarks, repeatedly approached the house, placed his head against a window and repeatedly stared at the pair.

It is further alleged he repeatedly played loud music and struck the floor of the property above hi alleged victims, struck a dog with his brief case and presented a dead cat to the child.

Dycher, who denies all the allegations, was bailed and will appear for trial at Dundee Sheriff Court in May.

Bungling robbers

Bungling robber Lee Brown tried to “put on an accent” when he and his accomplice burst into the wrong house and were met by a woman who was friends with one of their partners. With David Aird, Lee Brown raided the Crossgates flat before making off in a stolen car, which they repeatedly failed to start. At one point Brown set fire to his glove as he tried to light a cigarette in the couple’s living room.

‘Jail me’

A Fife thief who asked to be locked up after stealing a car in Glenrothes has been jailed.

Christopher Kelly was caught when the Ford Focus he stole from a property in Woodside Road was found parked outside his Malcolm Road house.

Kelly appeared from custody at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to admit the theft and asked for a custodial sentence.

on January 31 Kelly, 42, was spotted on CCTV and even spoke with a neighbour before the car owner noticed the vehicle was missing within an hour of parking it and contacted police.

Solicitor Graham Inch explained Kelly had relapsed into drug misuse since last being released from jail.

He said: “He’s a man with a significant drug difficulty.

“There’s no good explanation.

“He was under the influence of drugs for a good period of time when he was liberated.

“There was no effort to sell the vehicle. He doesn’t know the person.”

Sheriff James Williamson jailed Kelly for 10 months.

Troon Avenue murder trial day 4

The Troon Avenue murder trial heard a psychiatrist say murder accused Andrew Innes changed his version of why he killed Bennylyn Burke three times. Defence witness Dr Gordon Cowan said there was no evidence to support acquittal due to mental disorder, if Innes was found to have perpetrated the offences.

Andrew Innes is on trial for the alleged murder of Bennylyn and Jellica Burke.
