A man filmed a sleeping woman in a state of undress before sexually assaulting her at a property in Rosyth, a court has heard.
Joshua Adams also secretly recorded footage of a fully clothed 15-year-old girl at another address in the town.
In the clip, which lasts nearly four minutes, he zooms in on the youngster’s bottom and genital area.
The videos – from 2019 and 2021 – were found on Adams’ phone by his adult victim.
Adams, 26, was placed on the sex offenders register after admitting two charges at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
Covertly filmed teenager
Adams, a chef from Fife according to social media, admitted sexually penetrating the vagina of his adult victim with his finger.
He further pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, likely to cause fear or alarm, by recording the teenage girl on a phone and zooming in on her lower half over her clothing.
Prosecutor Sarah Smith told the court that the woman found a video of herself asleep and lying face down on a bed wearing just her bra and underwear after a night out.
She then found a second video clip from the same night.
The fiscal depute said: “In this video, the accused gets into bed with the complainer and the video shows him videoing her body before he pushes aside her pants, still videoing. The video then stops.”
The fiscal said the woman found a third video of another female who was fully clothed and sitting on a kitchen worktop where Adams has “recorded her covertly, zooming in repeatedly and focusing in on her lower body, genital, buttocks area”.
Ms Smith said this video was three minutes and 48 seconds long.
The woman recorded the third video onto her own phone but did not record the videos she had seen of herself, the court heard.
Cried when challenged about phone footage
Adams was later challenged about the footage and began crying and apologising.
He told the woman he had “digitally penetrated” her after he stopped recording the second video in which she was asleep, the fiscal said.
Ms Smith said the woman did not consent to being recorded, nor did she consent to being penetrated as she slept.
The woman later reported the matter to police.
Ms Smith said the second woman told police she would have been 15 at the time the video of her was taken.
Sheriff Steven Borthwick adjourned sentencing until July 28 to obtain background reports and Adams’ bail was continued meantime.
Adams, whose address cannot be reported due to legal reasons, will be put on the sex offenders register.
Defence lawyer Aime Allan said a plea in mitigation on behalf of first offender Adams would be reserved for the production of the background reports.
