A paedophile from Angus, dubbed one of the most depraved in Scotland, is back in jail after a jury found he breached a strict child contact ban at car meets across Scotland.
Paedophile petrolhead Steven Perrie, who is also known as Steven MacDonald, stood trial at Forfar Sheriff Court accused of flouting his strict Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
The pervert went to motoring shows in Leuchars, Anstruther, Brora, Bo’ness and Banff in the summer of 2024, which were also attended by youngsters.
Perrie denied breaching the strict terms of the order imposed six years ago, which bans contact with anyone under 18.
However, the majority of jurors rejected his defence and convicted the Perth Prison inmate.

In September 2019, the 59-year-old was made subject to a SOPO which puts stringent restrictions on his conduct.
The order prohibits him from having contact or communication, or attempting to have contact or communication “of any kind whatsoever”, with anyone under 18.
However, he attended the string of events between March and July 2024 where he repeatedly had contact with multiple children.
Among them were classic motoring shows at Rhynd Farm, Leuchars, Anstruther Raceway, the Royal Marina Hotel in Brora, the Banff Centre and Kinneil House Estate near Bo’ness.
Immediately after the jury convicted Perrie, Sheriff Mark Thorley imposed 30 months imprisonment, backdated to July last year when he was first remanded.
Multiple convictions for breaches
This conviction is not the first time Perrie has flouted his SOPO.
In 2021, it was revealed Perrie secretly changed his identity in a bid to hide his past and reinvent himself as a business owner and family man.
He paid just £42.44 to change his name legally by deed poll to Steven MacDonald and was living with a woman and her child when social workers found out.
An urgent investigation was carried out and Perrie was found to have broken numerous strict restrictions imposed on him in court.
He has also previously admitted failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements.
Perrie was jailed in 2004 for being caught with a record-breaking haul of child abuse material, including 400,000 images and 16,000 video clips.
He was jailed again for 36 months in 2005 for similar offences.
When he was caught for a third time he was jailed for eight years in 2012 and Judge Lord Uist told him the material he was found with was “disgusting and repulsive.”
On one of the occasions, Perrie, who is on the sex offenders register for life, was reported to the police by a girlfriend after she found a cache of indecent images.
