A Lochgelly man has appeared in court accused of drug dealing and firearms offences
Mark Kirkland, 42, appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday after being arrested in connection with a £57,000 drugs haul the previous day.
He is accused of two allegations relating to the supply of drugs, a possession of drugs charge and one charge under the Firearms Act 1968.
Kirkland made no plea and the case was committed for further examination.
He was released on bail.
On Monday, police raided an address in Watters Crescent, Lochgelly, and seized heroin and crack cocaine with a combined estimated street value of more than £57,000 along with almost £900 in cash.
A Taser-like device was also seized.
Inspector Gavin Cameron of Cowdenbeath Police Station said: “Our communities have told us that tackling drug crime remains a priority, and we continue to use all resources at our disposal to disrupt the sale and supply of illicit substances.
“We will not allow people to profit from putting others’ lives at risk and from causing disruption and concern to the community. We’d urge the public to continue to help us, as all the information we are given will be taken seriously.”
He added that anyone wishing to report concerns about drugs in their area can contact their local community policing team via 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
