A 20-year-old man convicted of raping two teenagers reacted with shock as the jury’s verdicts were read out in court today.
Jordan Dunn looked stunned in the dock as he was found guilty by a majority of raping one of the women in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, 2015 when they were both aged 17.
He was also found guilty by a majority of raping a 19-year-old care worker in Dundee last May, when he was 18 years old.
He now faces a lengthy prison sentence, initially on detention in the Young Offenders’ Institution in Polmont, where he has been on remand since his arrest last year, but continuing in an adult prison once he passes the age of 21.
During his trial at the High Court in Livingston, unemployed Dunn was acquitted of raping an 18-year-old female at addresses in Fife between September 2016 and April 2017 after the jury found the charge not proven.
He was earlier cleared of raping a fourth woman, then aged 19, and causing a disturbance at his flat in Swallowtail Court, Dundee, between October 2016 and May 2017 after the prosecution withdrew the charges.
Dunn had denied all four rapes and claimed in his defence that all the females had consented to have sex with him during the brief relationships he had with them.
He firmly rebutted any suggestion that he had pressurised or forced any of his alleged victims into having intercourse.
Dunn, who also calls himself Jo El-Haj, told the jury that all three woman who gave evidence that he raped them were lying.
Judge Lady Carmichael called for criminal justice social work reports and told Dunn he would be sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on August 22.
She added his name to the sex offenders’ register with immediate effect and told him details of his conviction would be notified to Scottish Ministers for the protection of vulnerable groups.
