Dundee man committed sex act as he walked in street

A 29-year-old man walked down a central Dundee street carrying out a sex act in full view of the public.

Michael Bajek passed two women with his genitals out of his trousers at West Marketgait, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.

He later claimed he was so drunk he couldn’t remember what he had done.

Bajek, of Harefield Road, then stopped and looked back at the women whilst continuing his behaviour.

Police traced him moments later with his genitals still out of his trousers.

Fiscal depute Kirsten Thomson told the court it was 3.40am on March 14 when Bajek was first spotted.

The fiscal said: “Police control staff members were watching an area of West Marketgait on CCTV.

“They saw the accused walking on the road and noticed his genitals were exposed.

“Officers continued to watch for five minutes between 3.43am and 3.48am when the incident was captured on CCTV.

“The accused is clearly seen during this time walking down the street in an area of West Marketgait.

“He walks towards a bar where two females are standing. CCTV shows they don’t appear to notice what he’s doing”

The court heard he walked past the pair continuing the sex act and turned to look back at them.

The fiscal continued: “Police attended and traced him at which point his genitals were still exposed.”

Bajek was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was found with 0.3g of cannabis, with a value of £3.50.

Solicitor Douglas Williams, defending, said: “He is in a state of shock at seeing the CCTV.

“He tells me he remembers nothing of it. He was drunk.

“The girls had their back to him so were completely unaware of what he was doing.”

Bajek admitted that on March 14 at West Marketgait and Westport he committed an offence of public indecency, in that he exposed his genitals and committed a sex act in public.

He also admitted a second charge of having cannabis, a Class B drug, at police headquarters on the same date. Sentence was deferred until April 22.
