Dundee woman to stand trial after cycling wrong way along Kingsway
ByEvening Telegraph Reporter
A woman is to stand trial accused of reckless cycling – after allegedly biking the wrong way down a busy dual carriageway.
Carol McPherson is alleged to have cycled into the face of oncoming traffic on Dundee’s Kingsway ring road on November 10 last year.
She faces a charge of culpable and reckless conduct after allegedly mounting her push bike with no lights or reflective clothing and going down the dual carriageway the wrong way.
Prosecutors say she caused “danger to herself and the lieges”.
McPherson, 40, of Fullarton Street, Dundee, denies a single charge of culpable and reckless conduct and an alternative charge of cycling dangerously.
Anika Jethwa, defending, asked that the case be continued to trial.
Sheriff George Way ordered McPherson to stand trial next month.
