A street has reopened after a major emergency response at a Dundee block of flats.
Fyffe Street was sealed off for several hours after police were called to a disturbance shortly after 2pm on Wednesday.
Officers were situated at a number of entry points into the street, alongside firefighters and paramedics.
Neighbours reported seeing an extensive cordon being put in place in the Polepark area before armed police arrived.
Armed response
One man told The Courier a woman was taken out of the flats by officers before the road reopened just after 9pm.
He said: “I wasn’t fully aware of the size of the cordon until just after 6pm.
“Every junction into Fyffe Street was closed off, as officers dealt with the incident near the junction with Benvie Road.
“Armed police were in attendance as well.
“I saw a few officers carrying weapons as they returned to their cars.
“Neighbours told me the woman involved was OK, I’m thankful no one appears to have been hurt.
“At its peak there were at least six police cars here and officers were dotted around all the other side streets as well.
“It was fairly shocking to see the scale of the emergency response.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 2.25pm on Wednesday 29 March 29, police were called to a disturbance in the Fyffe Street area of Dundee.”
