The Dundee music scene is to feature prominently on a new radio show being launched in the city this weekend.
Gee Force, which will be aired on Ninewells Hospital-based hospital radio station Bridge FM, will be launched on Sunday night by former local concert promoter and radio personality Andy Garibaldi (Andy Gee).
Music fans in Dundee may remember that years ago, Andy ran a CD label called Dead Earnest and an Arbroath-based radio show called The Sound which aimed to promote local bands.
Now Andy is hoping to again put local talent back in the spotlight.
He said: “”I’m really excited to be getting back to featuring the local scene and more on radio.
“Dundee still has so much to offer with bands such as Bravado, Carousel, The Delinquents, Volcano X, VF Lambda, and singers such as Coutney Elena, Esperi and Nicola Madill, all at the forefront of what is a staggeringly talented and still exciting music scene in Dundee.
“I really hope that I can kick start the new rise of Dundee music, and that we can get bands and artists who wouldn’t normally get played on radio out there to a whole new audience throughout the UK.”
Gee Force, presented by Andy Gee, is on Bridge FM every Sunday night between 7pm and 9pm from May 13.
You can hear the show, if you’re not in Ninewells, on DAB digital radio across Dundee and Perth on the Shared Access channel, and through the Bridge-FM website plus the Bridge-FM Android and Apple apps, both accessible at www.bridgefm.co.uk
