One of Scotland’s most popular craft breweries is to open its newest venture in Dundee.
Six Degrees North, the Stonehaven-founded beer company, intends to launch its latest pub on Union Street in December.
Dynamo Dundee will have as many as 24 beer taps, with brewers from across Scotland and further afield likely to feature, as well as the firm’s own range of drinks.
The craft beer group already has premises in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as the popular Marine hotel in Stonehaven.
It is understood one of the city’s oldest venues, the Star and Garter, will be the location for the new bar —and much of the original, listed interior could be saved.
A special crowd funding appeal has now been launched by Six Degrees North, offering supporters the chance to donate money to the project in exchange for exclusive beer merchandise and other perks, including “a return on investment of up to 75%”.
The company is looking to raise £40,000 before Christmas. Those who pledge money will be offered vouchers for the bar, free beer and clothing.

“We are crowdfunding the opening of Dynamo to give our ‘crowd founders’ the opportunity to embark on this exciting new journey together with us.
“Our ‘crowd founders’ will have an influence on the direction of the bar going forward and we are very excited to offer the fine people of Dundee this unique opportunity.”
The company’s arrival in the city follows on the tails of other craft brewing companies which have set up shop in the city recently.
Dundee’s own 71 Brewing recently opened a tap-room at its premises on Bellefield Street, while the St Andrews Brewing Company is creating its first Dundee bar in the old city arcades underneath the Caird Hall.
Scottish craft beer giants Brewdog opened a Dundee branch in 2015, which recently underwent a refurbishment.
